The problem:

Traditional confined space training is not enough

Confined space operations in ball mills and similar environments represent one of the highest-risk activities in the mining, energy, and logistics industries.

Despite standard procedures and certifications, many workers fail to fully internalize the risks or apply protocols correctly when facing real-life situations. Traditional classroom training and static videos cannot replicate the pressure, decisions, and variables present in the field.

Without effective training tools:

Accidents due to human error persist.
Safety procedures are forgotten or ignored.
New hires take longer to become operational.
HSEQ leaders struggle to measure training impact.

SafeSpace VR Ball Mill bridges this gap, offering decision-makers a proven tool to develop safer, more competent teams in record time.

The fastest, safest, and most effective way to train confined space safety procedures.

SafeSpace VR Ball Mill is a training experience for ball mill operations that delivers a safe, effective, and highly immersive way to practice critical confined space protocols — both for operators and safety observers.

This solution allows trainees to recognize risks, apply procedures, and understand accident factors through high-impact, memorable experiences.

Proven Results for HSEQ & HR Professionals

Measurable, Standardized, and Effective Training

Realistic Training in a Controlled Environment

We recreate high-risk scenarios in an ultra-realistic virtual setting. Operators can practice safety procedures with precision, enhancing their skills without disrupting operations or requiring physical equipment.

Performance Monitoring & Data-Driven Insights

HSE managers and supervisors can track worker performance in real time. This enables more effective supervision and provides key data to identify knowledge gaps and continuously improve training programs.

Standardized & Efficient Training

Our simulators ensure all operators receive consistent, high-quality training aligned with industry safety standards. By optimizing time and resources, the training process becomes scalable and easily replicable across multiple sites and teams.

Why VR works:
psychology & data-driven insights

Cognitive Biases and Decision-Making

We leverage human cognitive biases to shape risk perception and promote safer work practices.

Gamification

Gamification helps organizations tackle challenges through game-based strategies. By introducing competition and rewards, it encourages the adoption of best practices.

Data for Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence

Our simulators generate valuable data that helps identify weaknesses, enabling us to develop targeted action plans for ongoing improvement.

What our clients say

See how Yoy’s VR solutions have helped energy companies train their teams more effectively, saving time and costs while improving safety and operational readiness.

Michel Urcelay, Machinery Manager at Gardilcic

We embarked on a project with Yoy, our strategic partners, to develop a virtual reality simulator... We told them what we wanted and needed, and they brought it to life...
It is a user-friendly yet powerful tool, designed to simulate the environment we work in—workshops, mines, and also the operation of machines in all their functions”

Rodrigo Farías, Head of Instructors at Gardilcic

"The simulators were initially developed to reduce damage rates, failures, and safety incidents… Clearly, this tool is useful across all areas. Operators like it because it’s a tool made for them."

Marcelo Vicencio, Country HSE Manager at ABB Chile

"Virtual reality offers a dynamic and educational way to expose workers to simulated situations, making it easier to understand and apply electrical safety procedures."
Sector: Mining, Energy
Products: XR Studio Custom Development
Raimundo Díaz Olivares, VP of People & Sustainability at Enaex Chemicals Division

“Virtual reality has made training more effective in three key ways: we can train employees faster, reaching more people in less time. [...] With a VR strategy, you can take the training directly to the mine, maximizing every available minute. [...] Plus, the data collected helps track performance, identify errors, and drive improvement."
Sector: Mining
Products: XR Studio Custom Development
Martín Castellucci, Chile & Peru Country Holding Officer at ABB

“Virtual reality is a fundamental tool for the training process, as it allows for a closer and more effective experience of reality, improving the understanding and application of electrical safety procedures in various contexts."
Sector: Mining, Energy
Product: School of Risk Simulators, XR Studio Development
Mack Ortiz Espinoza, Head of Mechanical Maintenance and Civil Works at Colbún S.A.

"I think it’s a great tool. When doing these exercises in real life, someone has to ignite fuel—it’s a high-risk activity, and you can get burned.
A very good experience, 100% recommended."
Sector: Energy
Product: Xtintor - Fire extinguisher Simulation
Juan Pablo Torres, Senior Occupational Health and Safety Specialist at Colbún S.A.

"The experience they developed is incredibly realistic—the way the smoke descends, how you start feeling nervous, and how it tells you what you did right or wrong. [...] The sound of fire crackling is exactly like in a real fire, and they’ve realistically shown how smoke spreads, eventually blocking visibility."
